Stewart Gallery in the Grinnell Arts Center welcomes a new exhibit of Plein Air paintings, drawings and pastels by Brent O’Connor, a 1974 Grinnell High School graduate. After a three-decade career in data and communication system sales, he stepped away to focus full-time on his artistic passion. Brent’s subject matter comes from life drawing and a love of travel both in the United States and abroad.

Regular Stewart Gallery hours are 11 am - 5 pm, Tuesdays through Fridays, and 10 am - 12 pm, Saturdays. Stewart Gallery is located in the Grinnell Arts Center, 926 Broad St, Grinnell, Iowa. Free entry to all. ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK. July 22, 2025. CENTRAL PARK STAGE.
The Grinnell Area Arts Council welcomes Michigan-based Starling Shakespeare Company to Grinnell on their summer tour! All events are free!

On Grinnell’s Central Park stage:
5:30 - 6:30 pm Workshop: Staging Shakespeare drama workshop for all ages
7:00 - 8:30 pm Performance: The Comedy of Errors

The Comedy of Errors tells the story of two sets of identical twins who were accidentally separated at birth. When they encounter each other as adults, mistaken identities lead to wild mishaps and slapstick comedy in this short and most farcical of Shakespeare's plays.

GRINNELL COMMUNITY THEATRE SUMMER READING SERIES. June 14 and August 2 & 9. LOFT THEATRE.
NEW! FREE! The Grinnell Community Theatre invites you to join them for a fun, casual theatre experience this summer! Just show up! There is no cost to attend these events (although donations are always welcome).

  • On June 14 at 7:00 pm, come join a table read of And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. Feel free to bring snacks and/or beverages. The play is suspenseful, but the experience of reading the play out loud together will be a relaxed and fun. You can also attend without participating in the reading.

  • In early August, GCT will hold a staged reading of An Inspector Calls by J.B. Priestley. On Saturday, August 2, at 7:00 pm, there will be a meeting for interested performers, then the staged reading on Saturday, August 9, at 7:00 pm.
